Welcome to the first of my short tutorials on the Fantom network. In a few short simple steps I will guide you through setting up your first Fantom PWA Wallet.
Before starting I would like to stress the importance of keeping your private/personal information safe and secure at all times.
The wallet is compatible with multiple operating systems such as; windows, macOS, IOS, Linux and also Android.
For safety purposes I recommend using Coingecko to ensure that you visit the correct websites.
Lets dive into it..
Fantom.Finance homepage has all the information to help you gain a better understanding of the organization and its vision (Feel free to have a look around and get familiar).
When ready, Select ‘Tools’ from the top tool bar and then ‘Fantom Wallet’
Next click ‘Open Web Wallet’
You will then be greeted with the below options, for this tutorial you will need to choose ‘Create Wallet’.
The next step is to set a password for your wallet. Ensure that you use a secure password, the stronger the better.
Note: Password autosaves, you don’t need to type it manually every time (I only recommend this when you are working on personal devices).
After deciding on a secure password, write it down. (somewhere safe) Read and tick the understanding box then select ‘Download Keystore file and continue’.
A Keystore will be required for recovering your Fantom wallet should you lose access. It is a combination of 24 random words. Ensure that you document ALL of these words, correctly and in order somewhere safe and secure.
..IF YOU LOSE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION YOU COULD LOSE YOUR WALLET..
Select ‘View your private key’ and keep a record of this then click ‘I wrote down my recovery key’.
To ensure that you have written the words down you are required to verify all 24 words, in order.
Once you have typed all 24 mnemonic words in order, you will then be able to select ‘Verify’.
Congratulations! you have successfully set up your new Fantom PWA Wallet.
